Doha-based · Working across borders

The studio.

Interiors made to be lived in.

DIUM Design Studio is an interior design practice based in Doha, with projects in Qatar, Libya, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and beyond. The studio’s collective experience reaches back over a decade and across residences, hotels, workplaces, clinics, and retail — commissions that differ in programme and share one standard of resolution.

Much of that work has been made for places that share a climate of long summers, a culture of hospitality, and a domestic life organised around the extended family. These are not background conditions. They determine how light is admitted, how a plan turns inward, how a space built for welcome is proportioned — and they have shaped the studio’s approach to brief, material, and detail.

01

Atmosphere

Proportion, light, and material are set before any object enters the space. Atmosphere is designed, not decorated.

02

Documentation

Every design is carried into drawings a contractor can price, fabricate, and install — coordinated, dimensioned, detailed.

03

Permanence

Finishes are specified for wear as much as for first impression, and joinery is detailed to be repaired, not replaced.

The meaning of DIUM

Presence without thunder.

DIUM takes its name from the Arabic for a gentle, continuous rain — a presence without thunder or lightning. The studio works the same way: material, light, and proportion brought into balance, every element in its place, nothing announcing itself. What stays with a visitor is the impression, not the noise.
