Almishwar
A restaurant in Tripoli whose name means the outing, and whose plan is built around the idea of it: a long banquette under arched windows, tables set among the columns, an open kitchen behind screens, and a stair lit to be climbed.
The space borrows from the city’s own vocabulary — the arch, the tiled dado, the pierced screen — and sets it against things that belong to the road, a camper van brought indoors among them. The result feels found rather than designed, which is the hardest thing to design.
