Alkhaleej Urban Foundry

An outdoor stand at Libya Build in Tripoli for Alkhaleej Urban Foundry, one of the country’s leading steel and metal fabricators. The brief was to show what the company makes, and the design answers it literally: the stand is built from the company’s own products, in the company’s own colours.

Louvre panels become the walls, crash barriers the balustrade, lattice masts the pylons that mark the corners, and the street furniture is the furniture, gathered into a meeting lounge beneath a canopy at the centre. Nothing is represented; everything is present. The stand does not describe the work — it is the work.
