Durrat Istanbul
A classic-contemporary apartment in an Istanbul tower whose curved façade sets the interior’s principal condition: daylight. The plan opens the living and dining spaces to the curve; panelled walls give the apartment a gallery-like calm, and a single screen frames the continuous living and dining space without enclosing it.
The curve dictates the plan, and the plan accepts it. Rather than squaring the spaces off against the façade, the principal spaces follow its line, so that daylight reaches deep into the apartment and the view is continuous rather than framed. The panelling is kept plain so that the light, not the finish, is what a visitor notices first.
