Hongqi Showroom

An automotive showroom in Tripoli for the Chinese luxury marque Hongqi. The interior is organised across two levels around one circulation loop with uninterrupted sightlines to the principal vehicles; glass-lined lounges and meeting suites form a private layer above that looks down over the display. Lighting and joinery are set to a single grid — the discipline that lets the cars carry the space.

The showroom is planned from the car outward. The loop keeps the vehicles in view from every point of the visit, the upper lounges keep the negotiation private without taking it out of sight of the product, and the joinery is set to the same grid as the lighting, so that nothing in the space competes with the object it exists to sell. The interior’s discipline is borrowed from the product: precision, restraint, and a certain ceremony in the approach.
